Kagoro never predicted bloodbath after the poll
Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition
March 29, 2005

The Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition wishes to strongly dispute a story carried by The Herald newspaper of Tuesday 29 March 2005 and written by one Bindura University trained geography teacher Caesar Zvayi masquerading as a political and media analyst alleging that the organization's chairperson Brian Kagoro predicted a bloodbath after the poll.

Zvayi who has abandoned his teaching profession and engaged in uncivilized propaganda for the Herald further alleges that Kagoro said that there would be genocide in the event of a ZANU PF victory. With such magnitude of disinformation it is wondered what kind of students is this teacher producing for the country.

The allegations are uncivilized, defamatory and borders on fantasy. For the record, Kagoro never made such misguided statements as alleged in The Herald. The statements can only come from a psychopath who urgently requires psychotherapy.

The Coalition challenges Tafataona Mahoso's Media and Information Commission (MIC) to take action against such people who are tarnishing the image of the journalism profession. This is a clear case of publishing falsehoods, an offence under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

It should be noted that Kagoro as the chairperson of the Coalition propagates and defends the philosophy of the Coalition that revolves around solving the governance and legitimacy crisis the country has been grappling with since the government lost the Constitutional Referenderum in February 2000 through lawful means.

What Zvayi wrote is contrary to that spirit and could not have been said by Kagoro but by some imaginary person. Kagoro and the Coalition, like the majority of Zimbabweans celebrate law and order and the respect of human rights and no amount of incitement from The Herald and Zvayi could change that position.
