Describe
yourself in five words?
Rebel, stubborn, energetic and lazy.
What’s
the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don't give up.
What’s
the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done?
Try to write a PhD.
What
is your most treasured possession?
A soft toy, a hare, made of my father's military cap during the
war when toys were not to be found otherwise in Finland.
What
do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
To give up.
Do you
have any strange hobbies?
To fall in love with impossibilities.
What
do you dislike most about your appearance?
That I do not have the muscles I had when 20.
What
is your greatest extravagance?
My natural curly and white hair.
What
have you got in your fridge?
Mushroom soup, elder bloom juice, boring dishes, blueberries.
What
is your greatest fear?
To die, that would be too bad.
What
have you got in your pockets right now?
A paper tissue.
What
is your favourite journey?
Alone in a canoe in the thousands and thousands isle archipelago
of ours.
Who
are your heroes in real life?
Not really any. Many less spectacular ones - those who stand up
and make satire for the people's encouragement and the oppressor's
discouragement.
When
and where were you happiest?
When I was part of liberation in South Africa, as election observer.
What’s
your biggest vice?
Sweets.
What
were you like at school?
Despised the teachers and got highest marks just to show them.
What
are you doing next?
Writing on myself as a rebel, writing on my maternal grandfather
as a rebel.
