Describe yourself in five words?
Energetic, smart, talented, innovative and talkative.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
If you have a talent or gift you must pursue it. No matter what anyone says you have to pursue your dreams.

What's the most ridiculous thing you've ever done?
Jumping on stage and dancing while other artists are performing - just having the drive to be on the stage.

What is your most treasured possession?
My voice is my most treasured possession.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
When some one has been done wrong, I feel for them.

Do you have any strange hobbies?
I don't have strange hobbies. I like dancing but I cannot say that's a hobby as such.

What do you dislike most about your appearance?
My teeth.

What is your greatest extravagance?
State of the art music equipment. That is what I would like to have.

What have you got in your fridge?
Electricity is always off so I don't have most things in my fridge. I think I have water and green beans. If I buy a lot of things they will go bad.

What is your greatest fear?
Failure.

What have you got in your pockets right now?
Just a small amount of money, my ID and some songs that I am writing.

What is your favourite journey?
Life.

Who are your heroes in real life?
At the moment I can say Thokozane Khupe is really something because she has broken all odds after a long struggle to get where she is; to be the deputy prime minister. She has stood up for us women. She was talking at the women's day performances and she made me feel proud to be a woman.

When and where were you happiest?
When I graduated from university studying applied environmental science. When I finished my degree I was so happy because it was such an achievement for me after studying for four years.

What's your biggest vice?
Anger. Sometimes if some one does something to me I react very badly. I hit them sometimes. Especially if it's a man it's even worse.

What were you like at school?
I was a bit adventurous. I was a mouthpiece for the girls that could not speak for themselves.

What are you doing next?
I need to record an album. That's what I am working on. I have been in the industry for a long time, about 10 years, even 11 and it's high time I record something so that the whole world can know that Kessia is here. Only those who come to live performances are the ones who know who I am. So right now I need to record something even if I know I won't get any money from it. At least I will be known by more people.
