Describe yourself in five words?
Dedicated, motivated, compassionate, sociable, ego-less

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Never give up, even if the answer is "no"

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done?
Put up a tent in the rain in Spain (!) in nothing but a pair of underpants

What is your most treasured possession?
If wives don't count (!), my Kwele owl mask, circa 1930's

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Seeing total desperation in someone's eyes

Do you have any strange hobbies?
Answering silly email questionnaires?

What do you dislike most about your appearance?
Never really seen myself to be able to comment. In a mirror, it's all reversed, isn't it?

What is your greatest extravagance?
Chicken tikka massala dinners from Marks & Spencer

What have you got in your fridge?
Lots of vegetables, some cider, beer, left-overs from yesterday (now today's lunch!), milk, butter, jam

What is your greatest fear?

What have you got in your pockets right now?
Nothing. Working at home in my trackie bottoms (my comfy house clothes)

What is your favourite journey?
Locally, it's taking my canoe along the Great River Ouse in Cambridge. Peace, tranquillity and beauty

Who are your heroes in real life?
Anyone and everyone who stands up for what they believe in, and who makes real sacrifice for their cause

When and where were you happiest?
I'm not generally unhappy

What’s your biggest vice?

What were you like at school?
A useless, unhappy child. Never agreed with school, and it never agreed with me

What are you doing next?
More email!
