          MAKANAKA'S FATHER BREATHES FIRE
A family suck in this quagmire
Rests not but toss
Pretending she is a loss

          MAKANAKA MUST TAKE THE FLAK
Love came, a peace of cake
So she married Obvious
Yet the press remains oblivious
That bliss to her is obvious.

          MAKANAKA BREAKS THE SILENCE
No, silly the journos broke her silence
For months the news was pregnant
Stale news that became stagnant
Over months and left her privacy a remnant

          MAKANAKA GIVES BIRTH
Shoo, may be their wrath
Will end. She no longer is pregnant
A relief for news seekers, they sigh
May be the journos will write
Of the child sleeping in the cold, her right
To a decent home and education.
May be.

The poet's intent
Ever noticed how the mainstream sometimes gets so preoccupied about certain "news" that is empty and irrelevant to people's lives?
