Ten writers were
short listed to work towards developing scripts, which will take part
in this year’s Short Film Project (SFP), a project of the Zimbabwe
International Film Festival Trust (ZIFFT), which is celebrating its
fifth year of activity.
The writers
who come from diverse backgrounds have just completed an intensive
Script Development Workshop series conducted by Script Consultant
Rory Kilalea.
The workshop
will see five writer’s literary pieces being selected and adapted
into ten-minute film scripts.
The films will
be shot and edited in time for the annual Zimbabwe International
Film Festival billed to take place from the 26th of August
to the 4th of September this year, where they will be
premiered for local audiences at the SFP launch.
The "chosen
ones" include stories from Blessing Magombo, Manyika Kangai,
Elseworth Benhura, Comfort Mbofana, Musekiwa Samuriwo, Thomas Musoni,
Ziso Mudiwa, Silvanos Mudzvova, Wanisai Chigwedere, co- writers
Aaron Phiri and Rufaro Kaseke
