ZIBF
gets a new Executive Director
Zimbabwe International
Book Fair (ZIBF)
May 02, 2003
The Chairman
and Board of Trustees of the Zimbabwe International Book Fair are
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Samuel Matsangaise to
the position of Executive Director. Mr Matsangaise¹s appointment
was made following careful consideration of all applicants and therefore
was not made in haste bearing in mind the difficulties that the
organisation recently found itself in.
Mr Matsangaise
is a former editor at Zimbabwe Publishing House and the Director
of Publication at the University of Zimbabwe Publications before
becoming the Deputy Head of Information Products and Services Department
at CTA in the Netherlands. He brings to the organisation a wealth
of experience as he is not a new comer to the book industry.
We are particularly
thankful to all the donors who have supported us, especially NFF
and KOPINOR who have agreed to new support from 2003-2005, as well
as all our donors internationally and locally, such as SIDA, HIVOS,
the Book Aid International, the Netherlands of Embassy, World Library
Partnership, the British Council, DIFD Central Africa, MS-Zimbabwe,
INASP, the American Library Association, the Agence de la Francophonie,
Coca Cola Central Africa, Kingdom Financial Holdings, Crowne Plaza
Monomotapa Hotel and Lyons for their continued support. Your is
most encouraging in these extremely difficult days in Zimbabwe.
We would like to thank all the supporters and friends of ZIBF for
their past and continuing support.
The plans for
ZIBF2003 are in full swing and we are optimistic that the Indaba
and other workshops will be well attended and the Book Fair will
be well supported by local and international exhibitors.
Mr Matsangaise takes office immediately.
Prof. R.
Murapa
